So....back in September....Lisa, Jesse, David, and I took a trip to Arizona. We had to detour to Moab to drop my foster boy off for a home visit and that made the drive seem ten times longer! It kicked our butts! On the way down we stopped at the Grand Canyon.
It was different than I expected and seemed like a let down. Of course that could be contributed to my pissyness from the long drive! Haha!
David's sister Andrea and her family live in Arizona and Jesse's brother, Claye, lives there as well. He was out of town so we didn't get to meet him, but he let us crash at his place, which was really nice. Plus he had a really cute dog that we got to hang out with while we were there. You just had to remember to leave your bedroom door shut because he was obsessed with chewing things he shouldn't chew...haha! We had a pretty relaxing time while we were there. We froze in the pool the first night we were there, went shopping, went out to dinner and played games with Andrea and her family, and Lisa and Jesse went to the Miami Dolphins game (the whole point of the trip).
It was Andrea's birthday the weekend we were there so we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. They have awesome rolls...yum! After dinner we went back to their house and played a game. It was about getting to know the people you are playing with. Since Lisa and Jesse and Andrea and Cory didn't know each other they were at a disadvantage, but they did really well at guess each other's likes and dislikes.
One of the days Lisa tried to get frisky with a cactus at Claye's house. She didn't realize that it would get frisky back! Haha!
While we were in Arizona, we had people from out of state coming to look at our house. My brother Dale, our realtor, was also on vacation in California. So it was pretty crazy that after looking at the house, they made an offer on it and neither of us were in town to handle it with ease. We had to do everything by fax and phone and email. It all worked out but made some of the time kinda stressful.
On the way back home we stopped at the Four Corners. There were quite a few people there. You had to wait in line to get your picture taken. Then there were all the little booths that you could buy jewelry and other souvenirs. Overall it was a fun trip. Next time I just don't think I could brave the detour to Moab and I'd want to stay longer.
